Your Weekly Data Dose

Welcome to TVREV’s weekly Data Dose, where we look at some of the most interesting data point from around the industry. If you have data you’d like to share, hit us up.

  1. Off To The Races

Between the Indy 500, Coca-Cola 600 and Monaco Grand Prix, auto racing captured 5.5% of all TV watch time this past Sunday, according to VIZIO’s Inscape. The Coca-Cola 600 led the way at 2.59%.

2. Industries of Interest

Data from iSpot’s recent TV season ad report reveals which industries aired the most-seen ads during the last TV season (Sept. 6, 2021-May 8, 2022). While insurance leading the way won’t surprise, you might notice that streaming services were No. 4 as networks used linear TV promo time to push for new streaming subscribers.

3. Memorial Day's "Top Gun"

Top Gun: Maverick has logged the biggest Memorial Day opening weekend ever as audiences flocked to theaters for the action-packed nostalgia trip. It’s not rescuing this year’s box office on its own, though, as this Axios chart shows while utilizing Box Office Mojo data.

4. Pitch Perfect Pitch

Music is a perennial favorite on social video. According to Tubular Labs social video data, music fans watch a lot of acappella music videos despite the fact that there's not a lot of such videos available to stream. That's a big opportunity for brands looking to engage audiences with the content they seek.
