NBA Playoffs Hold Court Atop TV Program Ranking

Welcome to our weekly snapshot of TV by the numbers, highlighting the most-watched shows and networks for April 22-28, with insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching).

The NBA playoffs are in full swing, capturing a 4.99% viewership share across the week. Elsewhere in sports, the 2024 NFL draft accounted for 2.95% of watch-time, an increase from last year’s 2.71% share.

Some more insights about the most-watched programming on TV: 

  • The Stanley Cup Playoff rockets into third place from No. 20 previously, with 1.60% of minutes watched. 

  • Although it remains in sixth place week-over-week, MLB games saw a slight uptick in watch-time, from 0.85% to 0.86%. 

  • Fueled by reruns on ION, Blue Bloods jumps up to No. 13 from No. 24 previously, with a 0.55% viewership share.

  • Aside from the NFL draft, NBC Nightly News With Lester Holt was the only week-over-week ranking newcomer, landing at No. 24 (0.42% share).
