Basketball, NASCAR Lead Latest Ranking of Most-Watched TV Programming

Welcome to our weekly snapshot of TV by the numbers, highlighting the most-watched shows and networks for February 19-25, with insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching).

For the second week in a row, men’s college basketball games took first place on the ranking — and increased viewership share week-over-week from 2.07% previously to 2.43%. The NBA, back to its regular season after the All-Star Break, jumps into second place with 1.35% of watch-time.

Some additional insights about the top programming on TV:

  • Fueled by the Daytona 500, NASCAR Cup Series zooms into the chart at No. 3 with a 1.14% viewership share.

  • Various news programs rise up the ranking, including Fox & Friends, America’s Newsroom with Bill Hemmer & Dana Perino, America Reports with John Roberts & Sandra Smith and ABC World News Tonight With David Muir.

  • Seinfeld, which was No. 30 previously, lands at No. 25 with a 0.45% viewership share thanks to rerun marathons on Comedy Central and TV Land.

  • Additional week-over-week ranking newcomers include the NHL (No. 20), women’s college basketball (No. 21) and Chicago P.D. (No. 24).
